COURSE DESCRIPTION - This course is designed to meet the training needs of a Single Engine Air Tanker Manager (SEMG) as outlined in the Wildland Fire Qualification System Guide (PMS 310-1) and the position task book developed for the position.
This is a blended learning course. Students are required to complete five online modules and complete an assessment prior to coming to class.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
- Perform the tasks required of a SEMG to mobilize and transition into an incident aviation environment.
- Prepare for, manage, and oversee all phases of a single engine air tanker operation to support local unit and incident activities.
- Evaluate the capabilities and organizational needs to implement a safe and efficient single engine air tanker operation to meet the requirements of the local unit and/or an Incident Action Plan, or both
COURSE PREREQUISITES
- Completion of Basic Air Operations (S-270)
- Satisfactory completion of online modules.
- Bring Online Certificates to Class
