Fire Operations in the Urban Interface

TARGET GROUP - Incident Commander Type 4 (ICT4), company officer of structural fire departments and other individuals making tactical decisions in the urban interface.
TRAINEE PREREQUISITES
- Students must have basic knowledge of structure and wildland firefighting operation. They must also be familiar with and understand their agency policy as it relates to interface fires.
COURSE DESCRIPTION - This course provides training for initial attack incident comanders and company officers confronting wildfire which is presenting a threat to life and property. Instructional units include: size-up, initial strategy and action plan, structural triage, tactics, action plans, assessment, public relations and follow up, and safety.
COURSE OBJECTIVES - Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: Identify safe and effective strategies and tactics to minimize harm presented by wildfire to the urban interface.
